Welcome to INFECTION 2024, the 20th anniversary of our Annual Scientific Meeting. For the past 2 decades, our annual meeting has been serving as a scientific forum to update on the prevention, treatment and control of infections and infectious diseases, with a focus on issues of special relevance to Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the Asia Pacific. INFECTION 2024 is a timely occasion for sharing knowledge and to reflect on the what’s and how’s of tomorrow’s infectious disease control strategies. We have designed a programme that covers Emerging Infections, Infectious Diseases and Healthcare Setting, Endemic Infections — Beyond Enhancing Diagnoses, and HIV/STI. We are particularly grateful to the renowned local speakers and international experts, who have accepted our invitation to address various important hot topics of interest to everyone in the healthcare profession. Prior to the conference, we have a postgraduate student exchange session, which is a platform for postgraduate student to exchange research ideas and establish connections with other researchers. We anticipate the abstract submission to showcase the remarkable work being done by the junior researchers.
