Prof Eliza Wong finished her health service management training after completing her MPH and PhD. She is a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives and the Australian College of Health Service Management. She is also an Accredited Mediator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited.

Prof Wong’s research interests are patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), including patient experience and health-related quality of life at the individual and health system levels. To further enhance patient-centred care, she has conducted research projects to prove the validity and sensitivity of HPV self-sampling, advocate self-care, and improve cervical cancer screening coverage.

In the past ten years, she has investigated the feasibility and acceptability of HPV self-sampling. Prof Wong has rich experience in surveying and expertise in patient experience and quality of care. In collaboration with the University of Oxford in Hong Kong, she developed the first locally validated tool for measuring population-based patient experience. She has established a valuation set for the Hong Kong population. In addition, Prof Wong has obtained a grant to further improve population health by minimizing social isolation through intergenerational solidarity.
