Postgraduate Student Exchange Session
To mark the 20th anniversary of our Annual Scientific Meeting, INFECTION 2024 will be held on 25 June 2024 in Hong Kong.
To encourage exchange and enhance exposure of postgraduate student researchers, we are holding a pre-conference postgraduate student exchange session on 24 June 2024. We invited submission of abstracts for poster presentations of original contributions to the field of infectious diseases with public health or clinical perspectives by 21 April 2024 at 23:59 HKT.We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have submitted abstracts for this event. Participants should receive the outcome notification emails by 30 April 2024.
Presenters from a non-local institution with an accepted abstract would be provided a package of registration fee waiver, meals during the conference, and 3-night (23-26 June 2024) shared-room single bed accommodation in a hotel. Presenters from a local institution with an accepted abstract would be given a package of registration fee waiver, meals during the conference, and local transport subsidy.
Eligibility
- Eligible presenters are current postgraduate students, or students pursuing a second professional degree in Asia Pacific region.
- Only one submission is allowed per presenter.
Format
- Abstracts must be written in English and should not exceed 300 words.
- Abstracts should follow the format: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion.
- Abstract must not have been previously published or presented.
- Abstracts must be submitted via the online system by 21 April 2024 at 23:59 HKT. Late submission would not be considered. No changes to abstracts will be accepted after submission.
- Reviews, protocols, and case reports/series would not be considered.
- The presenter must register and attend the conference in person to present the abstract if accepted.
Categories
Abstracts should be under the following categories:
- Clinical infections and infectious diseases
- Public health / one health / epidemiology
- Innovations in infection detection, prevention and control
Evaluation
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the organising committee based on the following criteria: abstract quality, relevance to the conference, and clinical/public health significance. Results would be notified in late April.
Best poster awards
The posters would be assessed based on scientific merit (30%), originality (30%), clinical relevance (30%), and presentation (10%). Best poster presentation awardees will receive a cash prize of HK$2500.
Publication
The organizer intends to publish selected abstracts as a journal supplement (To be confirmed). Declaration of agreement to the publication’s terms and conditions will be requested.
